The Windsor Job Center was opened May 2010, by Project TECH. The first job fair took place a few months later. The center is run strictly by donations. The Village of Windsor lets us use the faculty for the two computer workstations and wireless laptops. Wireless laptops are available if needed.
We work closely with The Broome–Tioga Workforce at 171 Front Street in Binghamton, NY. Broome–Tioga Workforce provides a monthly calendar and workshop details that we will post on our website under "Broome–Tioga Workforce".
Project TECH (Technology Educational Community Help) is a nonprofit group developed by Stephen Goss to help the community promote technology resources throughout the Windsor area.
The computers and laptops have been configured with a Linux operation system. This keeps spyware and other malware program off from them and makes it easier to keep the computer secured for users. Users are able to use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome Internet browser to do all the job searches and research at the center. Content filtering is enabled on the workstations so adult content cannot be viewed.
The Windsor Job Center goal is to keep the Center with most current technology resources.
